Here is all you ever wanted to know about Marie. Well, maybe not everything, but it's a good start!
Marie Levesque Leonard first began working on home improvement projects as a child in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She and her three siblings were called upon by their father to help him out with the projects he took on, from building furniture to antique car restoration. When the family relocated to northern Vermont in 1971, Marie expanded her repertoire as a "go-fer" (as in go fer this and go fer that...) as her family entered the rental property business. Marie spent many summers helping her parents build and maintain their rental units, but she really became a serious "do-it-herself-er" when she and her husband bought their first home in 1993. Taking on projects she had no experience with gave her opportunities to expand her range of problem solving skills in all areas of home improvement.
Before starting Marie's Home Improvement, Marie spent ten years working in corporate America as a financial analyst, and human resource generalist, followed by ten years running her first business as a Corporate Trainer specializing in communication skills and conflict resolution.
Today, Marie lives with her husband, Bill, and her daughters, Renee and Keely, in Westford, Massachusetts. Just like the cobbler's shoeless kids, Marie's home always has a long list of projects waiting for her time. When not working on that list or helping her clients improve their homes, Marie loves to hang out with her daughters, play golf with her husband, walk her dogs and watch her favorite Boston sports teams compete.
In addition to running Marie's Home Improvement, Marie regularly speaks to women's groups on her favorite topic: The personal growth potential for women in taking on home improvement projects.
