Four Life Lessons I Learned From My House

“Personal and practical lessons from a professional handywoman”

Women from all walks off life have had to face similar issues; learning to ask for help, feeling like what they have done is “good enough”, taking big risks, trying again after a failure to name just a few.  Whether you are a stay-at-home mom, a single mother, a part or full-time working woman you will be educated, inspired and entertained by Marie Leonard’s mixture of life lessons and practical how-to advice.

In this lively presentation Marie weaves together stories about major life lessons she has learned while working on home improvement projects in her own home and her client’s homes.  While demonstrating how to use her four favorite tools Marie will explain the lesson each tool has come to represent in her life.  Come prepared to laugh, learn and be inspired!

Marie Leonard, owner and sole employee of Marie’s Home Improvement since 2001, is a professional handywoman who specializes in teaching women how to do home improvement projects.  Marie’s book, Marie’s Home Improvement Guide (Seal Press 2009) is available online and at local independent bookstores.

 “You Can Fix It Too!”

Spend an evening with a professional “Handywoman” and author Marie Leonard and learn how to successfully complete many of the projects on your own “To do” list.   Marie will introduce you to a basic tool kit, explaining how to use the most common tools you’ll need to fix everything in your home. Learn how to use a drill and how to install the right wall anchors for hanging curtain rods, towel bars, and more.  See what is inside your toilet tank and how simple it is to fix it.  Take a faucet apart and discover the basics of how to repair or replace it. Learn how to patch holes in a wall and use a caulking gun.  Marie will also spend as much time as possible answering your specific questions.

A copy of Marie’s recently published book, Marie’s Home Improvement Guide, will be included with the course materials.
